We are helping to boost our community

Boosting our community

Studies show that Canadian youth who participate in sport and community arts programs learn new skills, feel positive about their accomplishments, and develop self-esteem. Our community-based programming holds those three deliverables at its foundation and was designed to teach participants conflict resolution skills, problem-solving skills and promote good mental, physical, and emotional health.

The High5 Foundation (H5F) provides over 250 children, youth and women living in the Black Creek, Glenfield-Jane Heights, Regent Park, and Humbermede neighbourhoods with year-round structured, curriculum-based art, fitness, sport development and educational and training programming.

We aim to help children, youth and women to further hone their social skills, as well as, nurture relationships with their peers and  adults in safe, creative and fun learning environments. We bring together professional athletes and professional artists – dancers, musicians, visual artists and actors – with residents of all ages. Collaboratively, we develop accessible and dynamic sport, art and education and training programs and projects that authentically reflects the identities, expressed need and aspirations of each community.

H5F Impact

COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating for many Canadians. These past few years many of us have suffered-desperately trying to find ways to cope with the ever-changing provincial and federal policies and mandates.

Studies show that children and youth have been negatively affected mentally, physically and emotionally. In doing so, our programs, projects and events focus on providing opportunities for participants to develop and strengthen the following characteristics:
